User suggestions and comments
Various suggestions, comments and queries were fed back to us. A large number of these concerned licences, and their use. We immediately processed these suggestions as best we could via our new website and software improvements.
-
It is unclear how and when updates are made.
YourSafetynet: Full, automatic updates are made each month.
-
When extending the licence I apparently downloaded a new licence which meant I had to reconfigure all the settings.
YourSafetynet: Upon reinstallation of YourSafetynet everything is reset. It's now possible to reactivate YourSafetynet, whereby all the settings are retained.
-
Bought a new licence but I couldn't activate the new licence at all. I ended up having to uninstall and reinstall to be able to activate.
YourSafetynet: When you buy a new licence it can only be inputted once the old one has expired. If you are extending a licence its duration is automatically updated. In a future update the option to change the licence in the settings will be added.
-
In Windows 7 the installation text was only partially legible. The installation was completed with much difficulty.YourSafetynet: This was a screen resolution problem which has since been resolved.
-
I don't use the time limits, which means I have to set everything manually at 24 hours a day. It would be handy to be able to enable an 'everything unlimited' button (or something similar. YourSafetynet: This will be added to a future update.
-
Can still access unwelcome sites when Explorer is opened quickly. Also at times when I instructed the contrary. YourSafetynet: This was an error that has been resolved.
-
If you have visited a website such as hotmail.com for which you've set a time limit the time just continues when you leave that site.
YourSafetynet: This error occurred in exceptional situations and has since been resolved.
- Had numerous problems as for a very long time the playing of games didn't run at the expense of the set time. In my opinion this took far too long. The helpdesk response was good I thought. YourSafetynet: This was mainly a problem for 64 bit MS Windows versions. Now there is also the option to personally add software to the filters, just as you can with websites.
YourSafetynet explanation
We haven't posted all the responses as many overlapped, or we didn't gain permission to publish them. The majority of the suggestions concerned extending and registering the free 30 day trial version of YourSafetynet home. These comments and suggestions have in the meantime been carried out, which in turn has considerably simplified the extension process.
