Secure the laptops used outside of the network’s range and enforce the IT Use Policy that applies to your organization.
Risks
Company laptops can be used at external work locations or privately for purposes that conflict with the organisation's Acceptable IT Use Policy. Businesses are at risk of malware attacks, other security threats, and legal liability. Performance issues across the company network could also be affected as laptops are used to store personal music, photos, videos and other downloaded content.
Secure laptops
YourSafetynet pro+ relies on locally installed client software. The YourSafetynet pro+ client enforces the rules set for a specific Security Profile set by the manager. This client software remains in force, even when the computer is used outside of the organization’s network range. As such these computers may only be used in accordance with the Acceptable Use Policy that applies to the organization. If a user tries to obstruct the functioning of YourSafetynet this is detected and an optional report can be sent to the manager.
Not always secure?
Optionally you can also disable this security for specific security profiles. Limits and protection set for the security profile will then be disabled when the computer is used outside of the organization’s network range. YourSafetynet is then automatically (and temporarily) disabled as long as there is no connection with the organization's network. As soon as the laptop is detected to be back within the network the client automatically enables itself again.
